Royal Wolf joins Eggleston Motorsport for Bathurst
TITLE-LEADING Dunlop Series V8 Supercar team Eggelston Motorsport will partner with Australasia’s largest shipping container provider, Royal Wolf, for the next round of the series at Bathurst on October 9-12.
Royal Wolf will become naming rights backer of the series-leading #88 Commodore driven by 2012 Bathurst 1000 winner Paul Dumbrell.
Royal Wolf has 33 facilities located throughout Australia and New Zealand and specialises in the hire, sale and modification of new and re-furbished shipping containers.
Dumbrell enters the Bathurst round with a narrow four-point lead over main rival Ash Walsh and won the last round at Queensland Raceway in Ipswich.
The Bathurst round sees the Dunlop Series take up a prominent position on the Saturday afternoon schedule at Mount Panorama with a single 250-kilometre, 41-lap feature race to test out all drivers and pit crews.
Alan McLaughlin, Royal Wolf Executive General Manager of Sales and Marketing, says he’s excited to have a race-winning car carrying Royal Wolf colours.
“Partnering with a proven Bathurst 1000-winning driver and a professional, slick and successful team in Eggelston Motorsport is an ideal outcome,” he says.
There is no doubt the eyes of the nation will be on Bathurst on that weekend in October. V8 Supercars need to be commended for their work in increasing the focus on the Dunlop Series at the event and giving them a prominent Saturday afternoon race.
It’s great news for the teams and drivers and also for sponsors who stand to gain even more from being involved in the event”
Eggleston Motorsport Team Manager Rachael Wagg says the addition of Royal Wolf to the team’s solid partner program is a vote of confidence in the team’s commitment and approach to its 2014 Dunlop Series campaign.
“We are thrilled to have Royal Wolf on board as the major supporter on the #88 Holden at one of the world’s biggest motorsport events, says Wagg
With Paul as the current Dunlop Series leader and following a stellar performance at the Sandown 500 earlier this month, the timing couldn’t be better for Royal Wolf to support our team.
Paul has been looking forward to Bathurst since the start of the year and the whole season has been building towards this round, so we are all excited to see what he can do.
We have no doubt he will be one to watch and will provide Royal Wolf with some brilliant exposure on the nationally-telecast live race.
As the largest shipping container provider in Australasia we are very proud to be representing their brand at such an iconic Australian event and look forward to welcoming their guests to watch the action first-hand across the race weekend.”
Dumbrell, who won the 2002 Dunlop Series and competed full-time in the V8 Supercar Championship for nine years, will again pair with Jamie Whincup for the dominant Red Bull Racing Australia team in the main race at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
He has won two Dunlop Series rounds this year at Adelaide and Queensland Raceway and claimed four individual race wins.
He also recently took his second Sandown 500 win alongside Whincup in the first of the annual V8 Supercar endurance races.
Practice at Bathurst will begin for the Dunlop Series on Thursday October 9 with the 250-kilometre Bathurst race to be held at 1.00pm on Saturday October 11 and televised live on the Seven Network.
